Extreme Turbulence on American Airlines Flight Sends Several to the Hospital

A flight from Florida to Louisiana was rerouted after ten individuals were hurt when the plane encountered strong turbulence.

Flight 2401 took off from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport at 7:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, June 24, with 190 passengers and 6 flight attendants on board, according to the airline.

However, the flight was diverted to New Orleans after experiencing extreme turbulence on its way to Tampa, Florida, according to the airline.

When the jet touched down at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans about 9.30 p.m., paramedics were waiting for it.

Ten individuals were sent to the hospital with injuries: eight passengers and two flight attendants.
