Woman was arrested in Savannah, GA, accused of shooting a young mother and kidnapping her twin babies.
Lorenzo and Matteo Rodgers, are 6-week-old boys that were located, unharmed. Their mom, 23-year-old Gabrielle Rodgers is in the hospital being treated for her injuries.
Authorities say, the suspect, Angela Montgomery was speaking with various mothers on Facebook and set up a meeting which ended with the shooting and kidnapping.
Montgomery shot Gabrielle Rodgers in the chest and head, the mother is in serious but stable condition, according to Detective Patrick Skinner. Montgomery was found hiding at her boyfriend’s home after being tracked down. She was located in possession of the same weapon used to shoot the young mother.
While in custody and being interviewed, Montgomery mentioned that she was helping her twin sister (but she doesn’t have a twin sister) and that the babies belong to her sister.
Montgomery’s attorney requested a mental evaluation at the end of the hearing. Police are still trying to piece together the story to discover the motive.
