This week, a woman was arrested after being accused of threatening to shoot her neighbor and their kids.

According to investigators, the suspect hosted a party over the weekend and the victim overheard her calling the victim names. On Monday, the two began arguing.

Quantessa Hutchinson, 40, was suspected of being involved in a verbal altercation with a neighbor in the 1700 block of S. Orleans on April 4 when she allegedly equipped herself with a Glock 9mm pistol, pointed it at the victim, and then threatened to shoot the victim and her children, according to an affidavit.

According to officers on the scene, the victim identified the suspect as Hutchinson and identified him as the individual who pointed the handgun at her and her children and threatened to shoot them.

Police detained Hutchinson and discovered a Glock 9mm pistol in her possession that matched the description provided by the victim, according to an affidavit.

Hutchinson stated to police that she drew her gun in response to a perceived threat to her life.

According to records, the suspect was taken into custody on three counts of aggravated assault.
