According to Cleveland.com, an Ohio teacher allegedly shared too much personal information after her sex tape was spread to approximately 200 students at her high school.
The teacher is employed at Ginn Academy, a public high school in Cleveland that is exclusively for boys.
According to the news publication, the recording was stored on the teacher’s mobile and shared remotely with pupils who own iPhones using AirDrop, a function that enables users to share and obtain photos. It’s unclear what was shown exactly.
According to local news station WKYC, the principal reported it to the police and detectives from the Cleveland Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit began investigating.
According to the report, the teacher admitted to having the video on her personal cell phone but denied sharing it. According to news outlets, she is not being considered a suspect at the moment.
“If somebody were to have access to an unattended phone, its fairly easy to capture someone’s passcode,” Alex Hamerstone, a cybersecurity expert told WKYC. “If someone has bad intentions, the first thing they’ll do when they get access to your phone is look through your pictures, look to see if you have a private folder and see what’s in there, or look at text messages and try to find something inappropriate.”
According to a spokesman for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, the teacher has been suspended and will not work with students until the investigation is complete.
