An altercation between a 31-year-old suspect and the father of the minor girl he was seeing, according to Polk County authorities, led to a fatal shooting on Friday morning.
On Friday, deputies were called to a residence. They stated that the deceased, a Caucasian guy, was discovered dead inside the house. According to the sheriff’s office, he will not be identified because of Marsy’s Law.
The suspect, Raul De Alejandro Rodriguez Jr., and the victim were arguing about the suspect dating the victim’s 17-year-old daughter, according to Sheriff Grady Judd.
Before hearing the gunfire, a female witness in the house heard the two squabbling in the living room. Investigators eventually concluded that the man had been shot once in the chest at “near point-blank range,” according to the sheriff.
