Police say a Florida woman stabbed her boyfriend in the chest after an argument over a Tyler Perry film they were viewing.
“They were watching a Tyler Perry movie, which I read in the report had some drama in it maybe that may have instigated the fight, but overall it was just an altercation within the home,” said Ava Hanner, a DeLand Police Department spokesperson.
According to the report, the suspect, Naujaa Robinson of DeLand, appeared drunk and told detectives that her boyfriend, who has not been identified, bit her initially.
Robinson informed investigators that she stabbed her boyfriend in the chest in self-defense, and that he had to be driven to the hospital by a relative.
However, according to the criminal complaint, the purported bite wounds already had healed up.
So far, no charges have been filed against the boyfriend. Police say they gathered evidence at the scene, including a blood-splattered knife. The victim’s brother told FOX 35 News that his brother is recovering.
