A traveler at Florida’s Orlando International Airport was arrested for attempting to board his 22-pound crystal meth flight, officials said.
A TSA agent stopped Eli Brown at a gate on Jan. 22 for a random bag check before he could board his flight to Louisville, Kentucky, WKMG reported.
According to the outlet, the agent found 22 clear packets, each containing one pound of crystal meth, that were rolled up in clothes, and $900 inside Brown’s backpack.
The meth is reportedly worth $500k.
Brown, 46, informed the authorities that his bag wasn’t his. He said he was sleeping on his flight from Los Angeles to Orlando, and he had seen the bag next to him when he awoke, so he grabbed it, thinking it was his because, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by WKMG, it looked the same.
Brown has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine over 200 grams.
