Black Rob passed away over the weekend while hospitalized in Atlanta, after a lengthy fight with kidney failure, according to NYC radio personality DJ Self, who posted a video of Rob talking about DMX’s death from his hospital bed.
Rob’s health was visibly failing, and DJ Self had been with him in his final moments, sharing various clips of the former MC. Rob revealed in one of the clips that he had been struggling from health complications for the past five years.
Rob broke through with a hit in 2000, the commercially successful “Whoa!” which charted on many pop charts, such as the Billboard Hot 100 and others, and was remixed numerous times.
