NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley blasted politicians of all shades — Liberals and Conservatives alike — for cultivating racial divisiveness, stating they are attempting to “make whites and blacks not like each other.”

Barkley, a former Philadelphia 76ers star forward, was speaking on CBS Sports’ broadcast during the Final Four on Saturday.

The Basketball Hall of Famer made the remarks during CBS’ pregame coverage of the NCAA Men’s Final Four in Indianapolis.

The pregame show included a videoed portion of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy telling a crowd in Indianapolis on April 4, 1968, that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had been murdered in Memphis that day. The Presidential candidate, who was assassinated just two months later in Los Angeles, urged African-Americans not to strike back with violence.

After the segment aired, Barkley was asked by host Ernie Johnson to share his thoughts.
