A former Pennsylvania police commander convicted of child rape will be imprisoned for at least the next 16 years.

Brent Getz, 30, was sentenced to 16 to 32 years behind bars on Friday following his March rape and sexual abuse conviction.

Getz was arrested and fired as police chief of Weissport, a community of around 400 people northwest of Philadelphia, in 2019. In November 2020, a co-defendant, Gregory Wagner, pled guilty to child rape and testified against Getz.

The guys were in their teens when they were accused of starting to abuse the victim, who was then 4-year-young. Over a seven-year period, the victim said she was molested hundreds of times.

Throughout his trial, Getz denied ever sexually assaulting the victim.
