On his wedding day in Louisiana, a groom allegedly shot a friend because he suspected the man of having sex with his new wife.

According to WAFB, the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Devin Jose Jones of Alexandria for attempted first-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, and two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property.

Jones, according to St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre, had just returned from his own wedding in Kenner and was on his way back to the Alexndria area. He was driving with his new wife and a male associate. Due to a car accident, they became stuck in traffic on I-10, and that’s where all the “Love” ended.

Around 11 p.m., the two men exchanged heated words in the car. Jones then decided to pull out his pistol and chased the friend between cars on the highway, eventually shooting the guy in the leg, according to law enforcement.

Meanwhile, Jones’ wife waved down an ambulance and told medics that her brand new husband was trying to kill her before locking herself inside, according to cops.

Jones then attempted to break his way into the ambulance.

Jones was apprehended by police while strolling. The shooter was facing charges on Sunday.

According to police, a bystander was also shot in the hand after a bullet pierced the rear glass of their automobile.
