Gruesome: Home Depot Employee Impaled by Crowbar in Georgia

On June 14, a Home Depot employee was impaled by a crowbar on the job and is recovering.

The Roswell Police Department responded to the store on Holcomb Bridge Road around 8:20 p.m., according to the department.

When they approached, the impaled woman was standing on a forklift. The crowbar was stuck inside a compactor after going through the 54-year-old woman’s abdomen. Because the crowbar was keeping pressure on the wound, there was very little blood on the scene.

The crowbar was cut while the Roswell Fire Department moved it as little as possible, and the woman was loaded into an ambulance with the crowbar still in her stomach.

In order to provide the easiest ride possible to North Fulton Hospital, the police department shuttled the ambulance to the hospital.

Another worker said he was shifting pallets when he started hearing honking and the woman screaming for help. When the employee tried to move the forklift, the woman’s foot became stuck on the brake. It is unknown what caused the incident.

The crowbar had to be removed surgically from the woman. Her condition was listed as stable at the time of the last check.
