Authorities in Delaware County have identified a man who they allege killed and beheaded a woman inside a Clifton Heights apartment before actually trying to dismember the body even farther, KTVU reported.
Officers responded to the Willow Apartments around 4 a.m. Friday after getting a call about a potential domestic disturbance.
Officers arrived on the scene and banged on the door but received no response.
That is when one of the officers discovered a light on in the residence and observed a man in the back bedroom, according to authorities. The officer say that they observed Nicholas Scurria, 32, using a machete to attempt to dismember the body of the dead female victim.
Additionally, the officer observed the victim’s beheading and noticed rolled-up plastic beside her body.
The officer and his partner then kept Scurriat at gunpoint from outside the residence, while aiding officers helped them in making their way in to arrest him.
Scurria stated that he and the victim had an argument and that he whacked her unconscious after beating her repetitively in the face and head.
He also did admit to wanting to dispose of her body by mainly dismembering it, according to authorities.
Scurria also told the police that he and the victim were in a relationship but that he viewed it to be over, according to the outlet.
The investigation is still ongoing, and charges have not been filed but are pending.
