Three people were killed, including a child, after an automobile collided with a Metra train in Chicago on Sunday afternoon.

Metra believes the train was traveling at almost 80 mph when it collided with the automobile. Crews had just departed the site at 10:10 p.m., pulling the first car up only to get the vehicle out from under it, reported CBS2.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, a man, a woman, and a little girl were died inside the vehicle.

The train was carrying 41 people at the time of the tragedy. According to authorities, the majority were bused to the nearest CTA Red Line stop.

“It’s the worst thing I’ve seen,” Michael Gillis, spokesperson for Metra, told ABC7. “I’ve been doing this job for 12 years and this is the worst thing I’ve seen.”
