Rafael Guzman, 37, was arrested Monday in Sunrise on a single count of sexual conduct by a authority figure.
According to a copy of Guzman’s arrest report obtained by People, the Piper High School teacher requested that one of his female students stay after class on Jan. 27, 2022.
“After all the students left the room, Guzman told her to turn off the lights,” reads the report. The victim “and Guzman then went into Guzman’s office … where Guzman touched and kissed her breast.”
According to the report, Guzman later revealed himself and masturbated in front of the student. Guzman then decided to hand the student five $20 bills “and informed her not to feel bad.”
According to Sunrise police, Guzman admitted to kissing and touching the girl during his interrogation, as well as the sex act. Guzman stated that after learning of his arrest, he did not wish to speak further without a lawyer.
Guzman began working in the district in August 2018.
Guzman was given a $50,000 bond. He will be required to wear a GPS monitor upon his release and has been ordered not to contact the victim or minors and to avoid going near the school.
