Caleb Swanigan, a former NBA player and Purdue Boilermaker standout, died at the age of 25.

Swanigan died Monday night, according to the Purdue men’s basketball team, but no further details were provided, ESPN reported.

Swanigan, a 6-foot-9 guard, was a first-round pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in 2017. He spent 3 years in the NBA with the Blazers and the Sacramento Kings.

Swanigan, Indiana’s Mr. Basketball in 2015, was a highly coveted recruit who chose to stay home and play for the Boilermakers after committing to Michigan State.

Swanigan had a standout sophomore season at Purdue, earning Big Ten Player of the Year and consensus first-team All-American honors. He was also a Naismith Award top contender. He decided to enter the NBA draft after the season and was selected 26th overall.
