On an escalator at the Town Center shopping center in Aurora, Colorado, a two-year-old boy tragically died after falling from his father’s arms. On Sunday afternoon (July 25), paramedics arrived at the shopping center and discovered the boy unresponsive on the first floor.

On Monday, he was pronounced dead after being rushed to a hospital.

The boy’s father was carrying him on the second floor when he leaped forward and managed to slip out of his father’s arms, according to the inquiry.

The commotion was heard throughout the mall, and shoppers noticed the toddler lying on the ground near the bottom of the escalator.

“I was in one of the shoe stores and I heard a lot of screaming,” shopper Cesar Solorzano told KCNC. “I heard a lady screaming, then out of nowhere the shop owner ran outside, he was on the phone, I heard him saying that something happened, and he couldn’t close the store because he had guests.”

The incident is being investigated by authorities, but they believe it was a horrific accident.
