A 5-year-old child was among 3 individuals slain in an absolute tragedy in Detroit over the weekend, and he was shot execution-style, according to the relatives.
Caleb, a young boy, was found murdered inside a residence on Evergreen Rd and Fenkell St. on Sunday, along with a male and a female, FOX2 reported.
A member of the family hadn’t heard from Caleb or his mom, Lashon Marshall, went to the house to check on them, according to Detroit Police. Lashon and her boyfriend, Aaron Benson, were found shot to death by a member of the family.
Caleb’s body was later discovered in another room of the house by Detroit Police.
Caleb was allegedly killed execution-style inside the west side Detroit house.
On Sunday, investigators told FOX 2 that the murders did not appear to have occurred on that day.
Former state representative Sherry Gay-Dagnogo is a cousin of Caleb and consoled Caleb’s grandmother, Shalesa Floyd on Monday.
“What mindset can anyone be in that would shoot a baby in the face intentionally?” Gay-Dagnogo said. “You have to be heartless. There is one thing to even a score or have issues with an adult but a child? A child is off-limits.“
At the scene late Sunday night, Detroit Police Chief James White talked to the media and promised to find the perpetrator.
Near the property, there are two Green Light gas stations, and Detroit Police are hoping to uncover video evidence. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Detroit Police Department.
