This past weekend, a tense few seconds turned tragic in northwest suburban Streamwood, when an argument between different drivers resulted in the shooting death of a Glendale Heights man.

According to CBS 2’s Charlie De Mar, the incident occurred on bustling Bartlett Road on Monday night. Scott Mattison, the victim, is survived by two daughters.

On Monday night, De Mar met with others who knew Mattison and asserted that regardless of the nature of the disagreement, he did not deserve to be shot dead on the side of the road.

Mattison is seen on video arguing with the driver of a white Ford outside his blue work truck. Mattison’s arm then appears to enter the vehicle.

Mattison was shot multiple times and died as a result. He was 46 years old.

The individual that shot and killed Mattison was apprehended, but there was no information on any charges as of late Monday.
