A man has been arrested in connection with a triple stabbing in Philadelphia that injured a woman and her two sons on Sunday. Around 2 p.m., the incident occurred on the 3200 block of Knorr Street.
The suspect attempted to turn himself in at the 15th District in Lawndale about 2 hours after the brutal attack, but that facility is currently under construction, according to authorities. When police came, they brought the man to Frankford-Torresdale Hospital, where he was positively identified. At this point, the man’s identify is unknown.
Neighbors told Eyewitness News that after the savage attack, the man who turned himself in nonchalantly walked away holding a backpack, leaving a mom fighting for her life and her two young sons gravely injured.
A 37-year-old woman was stabbed numerous times throughout her body, according to police, and was taken to Frankford-Torresdale Hospital in critical condition.
A 15-year-old boy was stabbed twice in the back of the skull. Officials said a 10-year-old child was stabbed once in the back of the head and once in the left leg. They’re both in stable condition.
According to witnesses, the boys told them they were stabbed while attempting to protect their mother.
“They said he was stabbing the mom and the kids came down to help and that’s how they got stabbed,” a neighbor said.
CBS3 spoke with a neighbor who asked not to be identified but was in her driveway when the boys were stabbed and rushed into the alley.
The children told neighbors a few seconds later that the man who had attacked their mother had followed them outside. They also stated that the man was their mother’s coworker.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
