Horrific: Atlanta Woman Arrested After Doorbell Camera Captured Vicious Beating of Small Dog

A woman has been arrested in connection with an investigation into dog abuse.

Dwanisha Rayneice Hitchens was booked Monday at the Fulton County Jail on a charge of Cruelty to Animals, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

According to CBS46, on Dec. 16, 2021, at approximately 11:11 p.m., the incident occurred at the Landing Square Apartments on Greenbriar Parkway in southwest Atlanta.

Officers were informed by a resident that her Ring camera recorded the small white dog, believed to be a Maltese, and its owner in the apartment hallway.

According to authorities, the woman removed her sneaker and began striking the pup viciously several times. The video was widely shared on social media, and it quickly became viral.

The dog seen in the video is being held by Fulton County Animal Services as live evidence pending trial. A trial made possible in part by some grassroots detective work.
