Deputies say an 18-year-old male who participated in a house invasion that killed a father in east Harris County Friday morning, and he has been apprehended and charged.

Ruben Garcia, 18, has been booked on capital murder charge in connection with Martin Alamillo’s death.

According to authorities, a woman and three children were still inside house when four males, including Garcia, reportedly pushed their way in. When the home invasion occurred, a child was on FaceTime, and the child’s father hurried back to the house.

When the father, Martin Alamillo got home, he was shot in the doorway. He died on the spot. The suspects took off in a blue Chevrolet pickup truck.

Officers chased the car, and the suspects crashed it about nine miles from the residence before fleeing on foot. One of the suspects has been apprehended, and officials are looking for the other three.
