'I didn't see that': CNN Reporter Realizes He's Crouching Near a Live Grenade While On-Air

During a CNN investigation of Russian vehicles that had been destroyed on a Ukrainian highway, the reporter realized that he was standing next to a live grenade.

Matthew Chance, a senior international correspondent for CNN, can be seen wandering through the wreckage of Russian vehicles that Ukrainian forces had destroyed while wearing a combat vest and helmet.

He takes a step back when he realizes a grenade is sitting right next to where he stands.

“Oh actually — I was crouching down right by a grenade. I didn’t see that. Let’s move away from that,” he says in the clip below.
