A Cincinnati police officer was fired after her body camera captured her utilizing racial epithets on the job in April.

The Cincinnati City Manager’s office announced On Monday that it had endorsed Interim Police Chief Teresa Theetge’s proposal to dismiss Cincinnati Police Officer Rose Valentino.

Officer Rose Valentino had been on duty in a noticeable police car on April 5 when she ended up going to the district 3 police precinct to finish a report, according to an internal investigations report.

According to the report, as Valentino tried to pull into the station’s driveway, she noticed numerous vehicles lined up waiting to pick up teenagers from Western Hills University High School.

Valentino then turned on her siren and lights signaling for the vehicles to move, but whenever they didn’t, she became enraged.

Valentino rolled down her window and gestured for the drivers to move when a Black male student started walking by and gave Valentino the middle finger, according to the report. Valentino became enraged and, according to her body camera, said the slur in response to the adolescent student.

Valentino stated that she was “frustrated due to the traffic and individuals not taking her seriously.”

The Cincinnati Police Department’s manual rules, regulations, and disciplinary procedure as well as the administrative regulation of the city of Cincinnati were found to be broken by Valentino.
