Iron Man 2 Actor Keith Middlebrook Arrested By FBI For Allegedly Selling Fake Coronavirus Cure

According to FOX26, the FBI arrested a Southern California man who, according to investigators, falsely claimed to have created a cure for coronavirus and pleaded for investments in a business he hoped would sell the drugs, federal prosecutors stated.

Keith Lawrence Middlebrook told his 2.4 million followers on Instagram that his company could make a profit, hundreds of millions of dollars, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement Wednesday.

Middlebrook claimed that he had developed pills to avoid infections with COVID-19, and an injectable product that would cure those already sick from the virus, prosecutors said. There are no known cures, remedies or vaccinations for the coronavirus.

It is suspected that this federal prosecution is one of the first in the U.S. related to an alleged coronavirus cure fraud, prosecutors said. He is facing attempted wire fraud.
