The discussion on Wednesday was not about the allegations Smollett is facing in connection with the downtown Chicago assault, but about whether one of his lawyers has a potential conflicts of interest and should continue to defend the actor, according to FOX32.

Nenye Uche is accused of discussing possible representation with two key witnesses, the Osundairo brothers, earlier in the investigation. Uche has denied partaking in any communication.
