A man is facing felony charges after reportedly uncovering and touching himself on a plane ride from Seattle to Phoenix.
A criminal complaint names Antonio Sherrodd McGarity as the accused person who boarded Southwest Airlines flight 3814 on Saturday. The court record goes into great detail about the specific events.
McGarity started inappropriately touching himself shortly after takeoff and at least 4 times during the first hour of the flight, according to the woman in the seat beside him.
McGarity reportedly went to sleep after a finishing, at which point the woman told flight crews what occurred, using photos from her phone, and moved to another seat.
After the flight, FBI agents in Phoenix spoke with McGarity, who quickly acknowledged what he had done.
According to court records, before the plane took off, McGarity asked the woman for approval. “It really doesn’t matter,” she allegedly said as she threw her hands in the air.
According to the court records, McGarity was aware the woman was snapping photographs and assumed she was okay with what he was performing.
According to the FBI, McGarity also reportedly told authorities that he thought the whole moment was “kind of kinky.”
He is now facing charges for lewd, indecent, or obscene behavior on an aircraft.
