A 12-year-old boy has been charged with first-degree murder after police say he shot and killed a 13-year-old boy at a Maryland shopping center.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday at a shopping center on Ritchie Station Court in Prince George’s County, according to WRC and WTOP.

According to the reports, officers arrived to and found the body of shooting victim King Douglas, 13, of Upper Marlboro. According to police, crews also rushed a 13-year-old stabbing victim to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the media sources, investigators later arrested a 12-year-old boy from Washington, D.C., in association with Douglas’ death. According to authorities, the suspect, whose identification has not been revealed due to his age, was charged as a minor.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the shooting and stabbing stemmed from a dispute between two groups of juveniles in the shopping center,” police said in a statement Monday.

The offender who stabbed the remaining survivor is being sought by police.
