According to Dallas police, an east Oak Cliff man was arrested after he beat his roommate with a stick during an argument about what a mosquito looks like.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Victor Symone Shavers, 43, is facing an aggravated assault charge. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.

Officers were called to the 1500 block of Cape Cod Drive, near East Kiest Boulevard and South Lancaster Road, around 2:45 a.m. Sunday and found Shavers’ roommate standing outside with his face bloodied, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

According to the affidavit, Shavers was sitting on his bed in the men’s shared room with blood on his head and hand. According to the roommate, the two were discussing the appearance of a mosquito when the argument became heated.

Shavers, according to his roommate, grabbed a stick from behind his bed and began hitting him on the head with it. According to the affidavit, he claimed Shavers hit him at least six times.

According to the affidavit, Shavers admitted to hitting his roommate first. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Shavers was still being held in the Dallas County jail on a $28,000 bond on Thursday.

He is also being held on a misdemeanor charge of family violence assault stemming from an incident in June.
