According to an affidavit, Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna threatened to murder his wife throughout a domestic dispute on Saturday before officers arrived to her 911 call and discovered him strangling her.

Ozuna, 30, was arrested and booked into Fulton County (Georgia Jail on charges of aggravated assault strangulation and misdemeanor family violence, but has been discharged on a $20,000 bond. If found guilty, he faces nearly 20 years in prison. He was barred from contacting his wife, Genesis, by a Fulton County Magistrate Court judge.

According to the court documents, police discovered bruising on Gensis’s body and, while there were no visible marks on her neck, ‘the strangulation was witnessed by an officer.’ According to law enforcement, the argument began over alleged infidelities, though the specific details of the dispute are unspecified.
