After an overnight mass shooting in Navarro County, 4 people were killed, including a child, and 3 more were severely wounded, according to Corsicana police.

After a relatively short pursuit of his vehicle, authorities say they found the presumed gunman, Kevin Milazzo, 41, behind what they’re calling a quadruple homicide critically injured. Officers say he died shortly after being taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

According to Corsicana Police Chief Robert Johnson, the department received a 911 call at 12:06 a.m. on Saturday reporting a suspect had killed his family. Officers arrived on the scene to find an adult male and female deceased from gunshot wounds.

The deceased were later identified as the suspect’s stepfather, William Mimms, 68, and mother, Connie Mimms, 61.

Corsicana law enforcement officers say they also discovered two additional shooting victims in critical condition on the scene and transported them to a trauma center in the Dallas region.

The Navarro County Sheriff’s Department also responded early Saturday morning to a separate place near the intersection of Garrity and Stroud Streets in Frost, where they discovered the bodies of an adult male and a child who had been gunned down fatally.

The deceased man and child were later identified as the suspect’s son, Joshua Milazzo, 21, and the son of a former girlfriend, Hunter Freeman, 4, respectively.

Officers say they also discovered a third victim, an adult woman, who had sustained numerous gunshot injuries at the second scene. According to the press release, she was also shuttled to a trauma hospital in the Dallas area. Her state of health is unknown.

Officials say Kevin Milazzo was responsible for both deaths, and detectives were able to track his vehicle on FM-1129, just south of Roane Road. When Corsicana SWAT officers approached the vehicle, they discovered Milazzo critically injured from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
