The United nations human rights office has ordering an investigation into a police raid in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 6 that led to the deaths of at least 25 people. In Brazil, police raids typically involve officers encountering alleged drug traffickers in the city’s poorest communities.

The one on May 6 is being called a “massacre” and one of the bloodiest shootings by police in Rio de Janeiro history.
