In Evanston, a woman described as a “leader and advocate for the trans community” has gone missing.

Elise Malary, 31, was reported missing on March 11 by a family member, according to Evanston police. She had last spoken to her family two days before, according to NBC5.

She was last seen in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue, according to police. They assert that their investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing.

According to police, her car was discovered late Tuesday afternoon in a city parking lot at Hinmand Avenue and South Boulevard.
