Missing Woman's Body Found In The Septic Tank Outside Her Florida Home; Handyman Arrested

Deputies discovered the body of a Florida woman in a septic tank submerged in her backyard, and her handyman has been charged with her murder, authorities said Saturday.

After hours of excavating her back yard late Friday, investigators in Jensen Beach, Florida discovered a body presumed to be Cynthia Coles submerged in a septic tank 4 feet (1.2 meters) underground, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

Deputies arrested her handyman, Keoki Hilo Demich, shortly after discovering the body. Demich was charged with second-degree murder. Cole, 57, was reported missing more than a week ago.

No additional information has been provided. Jensen Beach is located approximately 80 kilometers (nearly 50 miles) north of West Palm Beach.

The sheriff’s office stated that the investigation is ongoing.
