Police released disturbing video on Friday of a speedy mother who acted quickly to grab her 5-year-old kid through a car window after a guy grabbed him off the street Thursday night.
Surveillance evidence shows a man jump out of a maroon sedan, grab the child, and hurriedly place the boy in the back of the car. Meanwhile, a second man was sitting in the front passenger seat of the car.
Authorities stated that when the unnamed guy re-entered the driver’s seat, the boy’s mother, Dolores Diaz Lopez, 45, raced to the side of the car and was able to pull her kid to safety through the passenger window.
According to ABC7, James McGonagle, a 24-year-old Queens resident, was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping, reckless endangerment, and endangering a child.
Officers were visiting Brookdale Hospital for an unspecified reason when they identified the man from the video, according to authorities.
They said the guy was in the hospital seeking treatment when he was apprehended.
