Murder-Suicide: Son Found Dead After Shooting & Killing His Father in Maryland

On Wednesday, a man was fatally shot by his adult son in the parking lot of the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) in Glen Burnie. Police said the son shot and killed himself after shooting his father.

Officials said the event occurred at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. First responders from Anne Arundel County were dispatched to the UM BWMC parking lot for a report of a shooting that had just happened.

When officers got on the scene, they discovered a male with gunshot wounds in between parked automobiles. The two men’s families were alerted after the incident, according to police.

Kintrell Todd McEachern Sr., 40, and his son, Kintrell Todd McEachern Jr., 24, were identified as the two men.

According to authorities, there was a dispute in the parking lot that resulted in the fatal shooting of McEachern Sr.

McEachern Sr. was shot multiple times in the chest and once in the head, according to police.

Following the incident, Michael Schwartzberg, senior director of public relations for the University of Maryland Medical System, issued the following statement:

“We can confirm the Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating a shooting incident at a University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center parking lot this evening. Our thoughts are with the victim and their family members. At this time, the hospital’s Emergency Department is open for patients and there is no impact to delivery of patient care. We would like to thank the AACoPD Police Department and Fire Department for their rapid response to the situation, and recognize the efforts of hospital staff who took quick action in attempting to render aid to the victim. Please contact the AACoPD’s Public Information Officer for additional information about this incident.”
