On Saturday morning, two people were found shot to death in the unincorporated Greenmead community of Los Angeles County.

The shooting occurred around 4:45 a.m. on East 119th Street, and authorities discovered two people in their 40s dead from gunshot wounds when they arrived.

Detectives believe the incident was caused by a combination of factors, according to Deputy Brenda Serna of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

“Investigators learned the female victim, who lived across the street from where she was discovered, had returned home, where the male, believed to be her ex-boyfriend, was waiting for her,” she said. “The male suspect chased the victim a short distance before shooting her. The suspect then turned the gun on himself.”

Authorities identified the two people involved as 40-year-old Rayona Davis, the victim, and 42-year-old Ralph Martin, the suspect.

The victim, 40-year-old Rayona Davis, and the suspect, 42-year-old Ralph Martin, were identified by authorities. A firearm was found at the crime scene.
