A woman caught on camera striking a child with a belt at a Florida City school on Thursday has been arrested and placed into jail, according to police.

Kady Ann Sewell, 33, was arrested on Saturday and charged with child abuse without substantial bodily harm, educational interference, and trespassing within a school safety zone, according to jail records, NBC6 reported.

According to jail records, the offenses have a total bond amount of $6,000.

According to NBC 6, surveillance video appears to show a lady entering the Bethel Seventh Day Adventist private school on Redland Road in Florida City and assaulting a youngster with a belt during the school day.

Zendre Pollard stated Thursday that her kid was the victim of the belt attack and had a split lip. According to Pollard, a judge issued a restraining order against Sewell.

Pollard stated that it all began when her son was bullied by Sewell’s son earlier that same day. “(My son) called and said someone was bullying him, fat shaming him, and [my son] picked up the child and dropped the child back down on his feet,” Pollard said on Thursday.

Pollard said that that after the conflicts between the two children, Sewell came up to the school to beat her son with a belt.

“(My son) was being bullied, he defended himself, and then the mom came and she was hitting on him and whooping on him with a belt,” Pollard said. Pollard stated that she took her son to a local hospital for an evaluation since he has a record of seizures.

Pollard informed NBC 6 on Thursday that she planned to file charges against Sewell, whom she personally knows. She is also demanding answers from school officials.

“How did this lady get this far, was able to hit my child multiple times, and you saw it wasn’t broken up, she walked out calmly,” she said Thursday. “My child wasn’t safe. My son was bullied by her son, and then bullied by the mom.”
