Tyre Sampson appeared to fall out of Florida ride halfway in plunge

A Missouri teenager who died after falling from a 430-foot drop-tower ride in central Florida’s tourist area appeared to slip out of his seat halfway through the ride’s descent to the ground, according to KCTV5.

This is according to a police report released Tuesday in response to a public records request. According to the incident report, the father of a Tyre Sampson friend who observed the March 24 fatality told investigators that the teen did appear to fall out of his seat as the Free Fall ride went pass the halfway point down the tower.

Sampson’s parents filed a lawsuit against the ride’s owner, manufacturer, and landlord last week, alleging negligence.

No one immediately helped Tyre Sampson after fall death, witnesses say
