Nick Cannon’s talk show, which has only been on the air for six months, is being canceled, according to Page Six.

According to sources, the staff of the nationally syndicated show has yet to be informed. However, we’re told that several of them were already looking for another job because the perspective for the floundering show appeared bleak.

The entertainer landed the role in 2020 after wowing producers with his daytime abilities while filling in for Wendy Williams during her lengthy absence due to illness.

When the show was announced, Nick was a hot commodity because his Fox show, “The Masked Singer,” which he hosted, became the No. 1 new tv show, drawing “more than 17 million viewers in its record-breaking 2018 debut,” according to Deadline.

There was also some talk of Cannon’s show taking over Williams’ if her health forced her show to go off the air indefinitely.

But the buzz died down when audience figures revealed Cannon’s show had only 400,000 viewers, making it the lowest-rated talk show at the moment, according to Celebrity 411. Williams’ show has a 600,000 audience.

According to sources, the show’s ratings “show no signs of growth.” Sources say networks are also looking for a home for Jennifer Hudson’s new talk show.

Cannon was “pissed” at the time, according to the Sun US, because the popular “Wendy Williams Show,” which premiered directly before his show, was expected to provide a viewer increase that less-popular reruns couldn’t.

“He is relying on Wendy to give his new show a huge lead-in audience,”  it said.

Cannon was briefly fired by ViacomCBS, where he hosts “Wild ‘n’ Out,” in 2020 after making anti-Semitic remarks. They rehired him after he apologized publicly.

Debmar-Mercury, the company behind the show, declined to comment, according to the outlet.  Cannon’s representative did not respond to the outlets inquiry either.
