Nicki Minaj, 38, and her husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, 43, are being sued by Jennifer Hough, the woman he was convicted of trying to rape back in ’95, who now alleges she is being tormented by the couple after turning down Nicki’s efforts to amend her statement.
Jennifer Hough, 43, contends in a federal suit filed in Brooklyn that she was raped by Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, in 1994 as she was waiting for a school bus in Jamaica, Queens, she was 16 at the time.
Petty was arrested and charged with first-degree rape.
Petty ended up taking a plea deal, spending more than four years in prison on the charge of attempted rape, according to The New York Times.
Hough says in new legal documents acquired by TMZ that Nicki and her husband Kenneth have tormented her and threatened her not to comment about the assault, and that they have caused her emotional distress as a result.
Hough claims Minaj has used “her superstar platform” to “bash” her, according to SUN.
Hough states Minaj sought her out when Petty was arrested in 2020 for neglecting to register as a sex offender in California in connection with her case.
According to the lawsuit, Minaj called Hough and promised to “help out” with her problem, suggesting she could bring her and her family to California. According to the lawsuit, Hough refused.
She alleges Nicki directed someone to contact her brother and give him a $500k payment in exchange for a statement, retracting her rape allegations against Petty.
In one alleged scheme, a longtime acquaintance of Hough’s named as “Black” in the lawsuit told Hough that if she retracted, Minaj would create “happy birthday” clips for Hough’s daughter for her “Sweet 16.” Hough claims in her suit that she refused yet again.
Hough is suing for undisclosed monetary damages, according to FOX News.
