A judge issued a warrant for an eyewitness to the shooting death of rapper Nipsey Hussle for failing to appear in court. In his absence, a police detective testified on the unwillingness of witnesses in the case.

Evan “Rimpau” MacKenzie, a close personal friend of Hussle’s who was a pallbearer at his memorial and stood next to him when he was killed, has disregarded subpoenas directing him to speak for the prosecution, culminating in the bench warrant with $500K bail.

Holder is charged with first-degree murder in Hussle’s 2019 killing and attempted murder since two bystanders were shot.

Prosecutors say Holder shot Hussle because Hussle informed him there were rumors of “paperwork” suggesting he had talked to authorities.

The shooting happened in a majorly black South Los Angeles area in which both men and most witnesses did grow up and where mistrust of police and justice system runs very deep.

Even Hussle’s fans and friends and those hit by Holder’s gunshots are hesitant to speak in public.

Jansen blamed Holder and Hussle’s Rollin’ 60s gang ties for the delay.
