Nipsey Hussle's Estate Settles with Crips over 'Marathon' Trademark Lawsuit

The late rapper Nipsey Hussle’s estate and the Crips gang have reached a signed agreement over the use of the phrase “The Marathon Continues.”

According to TMZ, Samiel Asghedom, the late rapper’s brother, told L.A. County court on Thursday that the rapper’s estate had reached an agreement with Crips LLC in the court battle that originated last October.

Hussle’s estate stated in legal documents last October that the Crips org submitted a trademark for the phrase, which the family already controlled.

The estate stated that the information came less than two months after Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, was gunned down outside his South Los Angeles retail outlet, Marathon Clothing Store, on March 31, 2019.

The parties are finalizing the terms of their new agreement and plan to file paperwork with the court soon.
