A prosecutor told jurors Wednesday at the start of a long-delayed murder trial that rapper Nipsey Hussle was gunned down outside his clothing store in a carefully calibrated, premeditated style by a man angry over a alleged conversation about snitching.

Deputy District Attorney John McKinney stated during his initial statement that there is “no doubt” Eric R. Holder planned to murder Nipsey Hussle. The prosecutor characterized the events leading up to Hussle’s fatal shooting 3 years ago in the South Los Angeles community where both men grew up and where the rap star was trying to help revitalize. The shooting also injured two other people.

McKinney told the jury gathered in a downtown Los Angeles courthouse that, in addition to shooting Hussle at least 10 times, Holder decided to kick the rapper in the head before retreating.

“He clearly thought about what he was going to do before he did it,” McKinney told jurors about Holder’s intentions.

Holder, 32, is charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder on two counts.
