According to AP, a gunman was shot and killed by police Monday morning at a sports and fitness facility near Dallas where about 150 children were participating in a day camp, according to authorities.

According to police, no children were injured in the shooting at the Duncanville Fieldhouse, which is about 10 miles (16 kilometers) southwest of Dallas.

Several people called Duncanville police shortly after 8:40 a.m. to report a person with a gun at the field house, according to spokeswoman Michelle Arias. Officers who arrived on the scene came face to face with the suspect and started firing. Later Monday morning, the person was declared dead at a hospital.

The person responsible for the shooting has yet to be identified, and no information about what led up to the shooting has been published.

All of the campers were relocated to a nearby recreation center.

Nearly three weeks ago, a gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, about 350 miles southwest of Duncanville, killing 19 students and two teachers.
