According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, a Merritt Island woman was apprehended over the weekend for fatally shooting her own sister during an argument.

Brittany Bishop-Gillison, 30, was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree premeditated murder.

Deputies from Brevard County were initially dispatched to a residence on Topaz Court Wednesday in response to reports of a “disturbance.”

When they showed up, they discovered the victim, noted as Kapricia Bishop, dead from a gunshot wound.

Brevard County homicide detectives think the two got into a heated argument inside the residence that spilled outside, where Bishop-Gillison pulled a gun and fired on her sister.

Bishop-Gillison is being held on a $750,000 bond in the Brevard County jail.

Investigators continue to ask anyone with information about the case to call their homicide unit at (321) 633-8413 or CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-8477.
