Prosecutors Say 30 Women Have Accused Cuba Gooding Jr. of Groping Them

According to CNN, Manhattan prosecutors in Cuba Gooding Jr.’s groping case said in trial Thursday that more women have filed charges of unwanted touching the Oscar-winning actor, bringing the total number of women to 30.

Gooding faces three counts of forcible touching and three counts of sexual abuse in the third degree in separate incidents involving three different women in New York City. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied the allegations.

Gooding arrived at the New York Supreme Court wearing a black face mask, which he briefly undressed to reveal that the inside read “Black Lives Matter.” He was accompanied by his lawyer Peter Toumbekis, who argued in court on Thursday that he could question people seen in a video about the time that Gooding allegedly abused women.

Gooding’s trial was scheduled to begin in April, but was delayed due to a coronavirus pandemic quarantine. A new trial date has not been set, but there will be another hearing in this case on September 1.
