In connection with a fatal carjacking, four minors were jailed by the New Orleans Police Department on Monday afternoon.

Officers claim to have taken into custody 4 wanted individuals on Tuesday. All of the suspects are under the age of 18.

Superintendent Shaun Ferguson confirmed that one 17-year-old boy, one 16-year-old girl, and two 15-year-old girls were arrested.

The teens will be facing charges of second-degree murder in what Ferguson called a “senseless and violent incident.”

According to Ferguson, the public assisted in the pursuit for the teens involved by providing statements from eyewitnesses and tips through Crimestoppers.
