A Texas college student who was “catastrophically” disfigured by a dog attack was bitten over 800 times and lost nearly 30% of her blood, as frightening body cam footage footage shows police struggling to handle the animals.

When Jacqueline Durand, a University of Texas at Dallas student, arrived at the home of Dr. Justin Bishop and his wife, Ashley, to walk their two dogs, she was mauled just before her 22nd birthday in December.

The dogs ganged up on her and held her down when she opened the door — a German shepherd mixed-breed named Lucy and a pit bull mixed-breed named Bender.

Durand, who was seen in a wheelchair, also showed off her severe facial injuries, which required skin grafts from her buttocks.

The responding officers struggle to keep the dogs under control, according to never-before-seen body camera footage.

In the video, a cop can be heard saying, “We can’t make entry because of the dogs.”

From the time officers arrived to the time medics felt safe enough to enter the premises, it took 37 minutes.

According to a lawsuit filed in January, Durand’s nose, ears, lips, and cheeks were torn off during the attack by the “bloodthirsty” animals.

“The dogs violently attacked her head and face — mauling her catastrophically,” the suit says.

“The dogs were so violent and bloodthirsty that they pulled all of Jacqueline’s clothes off, including her blue jeans. The dogs tore off and ate both of Jacqueline’s ears, her nose, her lips, and most of her face below her eyes.”

Durand stated that she chose to come forward and show her injuries now in order to be seen as an example rather than a victim.

The couple is being sued for allegedly failing to control, secure, and train the dogs, as well as “failing to provide a safe environment for their invitees,” according to the lawsuit. Durand is seeking a jury trial and more than $1 million in damages.

According to the outlet, the 22-year-old only escaped the nightmare because the house alarm at the Bishops’ home ended up going off when the front door was left open during the attack.

The couple told investigators the dogs came from rescue organizations and that they hadn’t had any problems with them.
