Man Fatally Shoots Supermarket Cashier Over Face Mask Dispute (Image: Screenshot/CBS46)
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, a clerk at the Big Bear Supermarket was murdered after being shot during a confrontation over a mask.
According to Sheriff Melody Maddox, a male suspect drew a pistol and gunned down the clerk inside the business. We don’t know the identify of the woman who was slain; all we know is that she worked as a cashier at a supermarket.
Maddox stated that there were several individuals inside the supermarket at the time of the incident.
Authorities did offer a statement on the sheriff’s officer who was injured during the grocery confrontation, stating he rushed to the gunshots and fired on the shooter, striking him numerous times.
The suspect is being hospitalized at Grady Memorial Hospital, but his condition is unknown at the moment.
